Mine stuck once, but I was able to push it free by hand. It didn't take much. The 1000 islands are polymer skinned, not sure if that helps prevent adhesion or not.
There are probably pluses and minuses to both.
A few that come to mind:
Airboats have a much better weight capacity than hovercrafts.
Airboats don't have bags that can rip, which could leave you stranded.
Airboats are typically powered by Lycoming aircraft engines or standard car engines, both are easy to work on.
