Default The new improved Ski Waterville cam:

Nov 24, 2019: www.waterville.com/cams .... is 34, rainy and bleechy outside .... with a few determined skiers with nothing better to do out on the slopes.

Three cheers for Waterville Valley ..... working hard to make it all happen ...... and three cheers for the new High Country tee-bar lift, a brand new two person, surface tee-bar lift way up top on High Country.

Here's hoping for a High Country tee-bar cam from way high atop the mountain..... seriously!

Having a new tee-bar lift built in 2019 reminds me how much fun it was getting pulled up the slope on the old rope tow lifts, and here's hoping that Waterville Valley can run an old style rope tow powered by an old red Farm-All tractor's rear wheel rim, with the tire removed ........ and you need to just hang on tight with both hands, and let the rope pull you up the hill. Was more fun going up, what with the back sliding pile-ups, than it was, skiing down the hill. Riding the lifts used to be somewhat of a challenge.

Technology has taken over at the ski slopes. Chairlifts slow down to let you get on and off, where in the past there were loaders who held back the chair as you hopped off with the chair swinging forward. Ski lift workers used to be local characters, and now they are a solitary figure sitting alone behind a glass window.
