I think I understand why you don't like the government, but I don't understand why you assume the government has anything to do with boat show security. I was there today--all the security is private, I didn't see even one police officer. As Wini points out, the boat show itself is worried about a kook with a gun.
Thanks again to those who encouraged me to attend--it was great fun and also informative. Definitely a must for anyone pondering a boat without a firm brand preference
