Just looked and apparently fleas don't fly? Wiki said they are wingless and the little buggers I have walk a little and fly. No bigger than the point of a half dull pencil. Any guesses?

Could be fruit flies. If you have fruit or anything sweet that they can get at, they will get on them and multiply very quickly. They will fly in front of your face and drive you crazy. Don't leave fruit out to ripen, and don't leave anything sweet exposed so they can lay their eggs on them.
For some reason there are a lot of them this year...around my house anyway.
