If they squeak as you are driving then the pads is probably down to the wear sensor and they need replacing.
If they squeak when you step on the brakes that is fairly common and may not mean they need replacing.
In Europe they equate squeaky brakes to properly working brakes, if they don't squeak they're not working.
In America it's just the opposite.
