No matter where you buy them I would caution you to avoid farm raised.
Always look for "wild caught" from anywhere in the gulf of Mexico
Most farm raised are from countries that don't have sanitation standards like ours and you may be getting shrimp that are treated with
Disinfectants, antibiotics, algaecides and herbicides.Not so with wild caught.
Lots of Youtube videos.......type in "filthy shrimp farms" and see for yourself.
Unfortunately,most stores and restaurants use them because they are cheaper.
