This doesn't winterize the water line which could freeze and split if you don't blow it out- especially if its old copper.
My dishwasher water line and drain line are separate from the sink. It has it's own shutoff. My house has a spigot on the dishwasher side of the shutoff. What I do is after shutting off the water and turning on the spigot, connect a small submersible pump in a bucket filled with a gallon of antifreeze to the spigot. I run the dishwasher until i hear water in the spray arms then reset the cycle. I keep the bucket and pump on hand in case I decide to use the dishwasher over the winter.
