Which wouldn't qualify as "gossip" by any definition even if it weren't true.

GILFORD, N.H.*(AP) — State police say a man has drowned in Lake Winnipesaukee.

It happened just before 5 p.m. Monday. State police say their marine patrol received a 911 call reporting that lifeguards at Ellacoya State Park were performing CPR on an unresponsive man.

A lifeguard recovered the man in water that was about 7 feet deep. Guards continued performing CPR until marine patrol officers and Gilford fire and rescue officers arrived.

The man was taken to Lakes Region General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His identity wasn't immediately released. An autopsy has been scheduled.
