My daughter got the ring camera's because she had someone steal stuff from her car in the driveway. She really likes them.

I tried that, not sure if it's the type of glass or what but it works relatively well during the day, but I basically lost night vision capability when there were two panes of glass in the way. I don't have special glass on the windows (tinted or the life), but at any control/intensity settings I'm blind at night with Blink when thru glass. Shadows / vague motions only. Could be just me....
