The first school dance I attended was a "battle of the bands".
The cafeteria had a band at each end and a bunch of nerve racked eighth graders in between.
The bands were "Hard Tail" and "Straf".
Curious about the name, I asked one of the members of Straf for an explanation.
He told me "It's farts spelled backwards."

My son was in a band with some buddies in high school and they were actually pretty darn good. On their way to do their first open mic night they realized they had no name. Because the open mic night was at a library, they quickly came up with the name Dewey and The Decimals.
