Default Ammo sizing

The Schmidt-Rubin rifle, if that's what yours is, probably uses the 7.55 X 55 mm round. The .308 Winchester approximates the 7.62 X 51 mm NATO round. US military used the 7.62 NATO round in the M-14. Today's standard US round is the 5.56 X 45 mm used in the M-16 and similar weapons. Also referred to as the .223 caliber round.

The NATO round and the .308 are sometimes interchangeable. You can look it up.

As in all weapons your Swiss carbine demands the correct cartridge. The math is self-evident. Thanks for bringing the Swiss rifle to our attention. Good luck.
