Default Stair Lift Pricing

Hi Secondcurve--

We were quoted $4K for each lift by Stannah Stairlifts in FL. My in-laws require 2 units, as they have 2 sets of stairs to leading to their 2nd floor condo. So, $8K total for them. (Why a couple in their 80's bought a 2nd floor condo where there's no elevator, I'll never know, but we'll leave that one alone... )

Their condo complex also requires that the units be removed and the stairs patched/repaired to their original condition when the in-laws, (or their estate), sells the condo. The stairlift co. will remove the units for a fee "to be determined at that time" and they claim that their is no after-market for used stairlifts. So, it would seem that the $8K, plus the de-installation cost, plus the stair patch/repair cost, is all a sunk cost. However, if the in-laws need the units to get into their home, there's not much choice.
