Anyone want to update/add to this conversation? We ended up moving from Verizon to AT&T prepaid and have been very happy. Cost is $90/month for three phones—two with 16GB and one with 1GB.

Our problem, I think, was not access to Verizon's service but deprioritization. I believe that since we had a lower-end plan, Verizon would push us to the bottom during peak usage times. AT&T's network is either less congested or they don't deprioritize as aggressively.

I have been thinking, however, of trying Xfinity Mobile as it would only be ~$10 more to get unlimited x 2 and 1GB.
