I have worked with the Gilford FD on calls. Their current boat is not up to the job. Good folks, old boat. New one needed.

Think about the value of the properties on that shore. I think that what they pay in property taxes that they deserve the best fire protection available.

Excellent post MB! I couldn't agree more! I am certainly glad the town of Gilford cares enough about its shoreline and island home tax payers to ensure we have the proper safety equipment needed.

I would like to point out that this was not all a taxpayer burden. Some islanders and shoreline home owners made personal donations to help with cost.
