For a diver to go down 30' into 34-degree water like that, alone with no second diver, they must probably wear a dry suit with extra warm long underwear underneath, a flashlight, and a very heavy weight belt with a quick release. Gotta be seriously determined to be doing that in the 34-degree water.
Watching the NH F&G divers on tv, on North Woods Law, there's always like four divers and four more people, nearby, and it's a big team effort as opposed to one lonely diver, going down.
