The last 2 nights have featured a very hazy horizon that has made for beautiful sunsets. These were really easy to photograph since the sun was dim enough that there were no issues looking directly at it.
The 1st one was taken at the long end of a pretty decent telephoto lens (something you'd typically leave home if you're taking sunset pictures)
I'm embarrassed to admit the camera was on "automatic", with a sunset scene mode selected (which I suspect under exposed the picture a bit)
I have no clue what caused the very narrow and distinct cloud bands across the sun. They must have been quite close together in altitude.

Here is the sunset from the exact same point on Monday. Interesting to note how far the sun has moved in a single day.
