My friend has a Yeti. It keeps ice forever but it's obviously expensive and not very big. Unless you are going to the desert for 8 days I don't see the point.
But, speaking of trash, I got my hands on a few coolers that Omaha Steaks mails in and they are great. Not very durable since they are just Styrofoam but they are about 3" thick and keep ice for a long time.
