Default Lake Opechee

Just wondering if anyone explore Lake Opechee?

My grandfather worked at the Scott & Williams plant for many years. The current location of the Opechee Inn and Spa was the location of a plant that made carburetors during WWII. When the war was over, the govt no longer need the parts and S&W had to dispose pallets of carburetors. I was told S&W drag the pallets over the ice and sank them in the middle of the lake as there was no market or needs for them. I often wonder if there will be other large scale surplus or possible machinery in Opechee. Lots of industry along the Union Ave side, Lakport and Messer Street through the years.
