Default ........ 57 3/4-degrees!

For $3.19, Walmart has Intex floating mercury thermometers designed for a pool, hot tub, lake, or ocean. It floats and has a small hole designed for attaching a thin line at the flotation top so it can be hung from dock, down into the water. Seems to be well made, easy to use, easy to read, and accurate.

As of today, Thursday, May 25, 2017, the Lake Winnipesaukee water temperature is 57 and 3/4-degrees, at the surface, which is pretty chilly but actually warm enough on a hot, sunny day to be wading out up to one's neck, but is too cold for swimming without a wet suit.

That hot, warm sun, sure makes a big huge difference .....huge!

Wonder if that floating water monitor buoy at Weirs Beach, which was started last summer-2016, which reports the water temp on the internet is up and running again, courtesy of the United States Dept of the Weather?
