That article is probably using the micropolitan area of Torrington, which includes much of Litchfield County. That population would explain the existence of many millionaires, not Torrington itself, which has a population of about 34000. The average price of a home in Torrington is probably around $150000 at this point in time. Maybe the whole article is using micropolitan data?

So what about Laconia? Some dolt added up all of the lakefront homes is the area towns to get their estimate?
