Yes, I have seen one!
I saw one last fall walking up the street - it walked like a cat and had a very long thick tail that swooped to the ground. By the time I took a picture with my phone, it had walked among trees and out of focus. My neighbor also saw it in her driveway around the same time period. We live in Meredith near the Laconia line and Rt. 3.
A friend saw one in Gilford a few years ago up the hill near the cinema. He saw several growing up in Missouri and knew exactly what they look like.
Just because someone hasn't captured one in a picture or found a dead carcass doesn't mean they are not here. Animals are not aware of state lines!
