The towing issue was the first thing that popped into my mind when this thread popped up.
I believe that 5000lbs is dry weight for just the boat - wet weight with a trailer may be over 7000lbs...
That's a lot of boat to tow. I tow a similar boat myself, with a Tundra V8, and it has to work hard going up hill.
The original poster mentioned he was a first time boat owner. If at all possible I'd suggest finding a friend with a similar boat and try to tow, launch, and load it with your SUV and see what that experience is like. With the right vehicle and experience it is no big deal to tow a boat that size.
