Default High Wind Watch

The computer models are in agreement, showing strong low pressure over the Canadian Maritimes tomorrow, which means we'll be hit with strong wind on its backside. This is today's storm (now ending) as it moves away. Winds are now calm but will be starting up from the northwest later today and gusts to 35 mph are possible this evening.

Winds will increase overnight and may gust over 50 mph tomorrow. Direction will be from the northwest.

Fallen trees are a possibility as recent warmth, melting, and rain has softened up the ground in many places, which may allow for easy uprooting.

In response to this, the National Weather Service in Gray Maine has issued a high wind watch for its entire coverage area (Most of NH and central Maine) for tomorrow.

The watch will be upgraded to a warning if the threat of 50+ mph winds starts to materialize.
