CANTERBURY — Canterbury Shaker Village and the White Mountain Region Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America will host a Vintage Car Show on the Shaker Village grounds on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Visitors can admire automobiles from many eras, meet with the owners and other vintage car enthusiasts, shop for local handcrafts at the Museum Store and enjoy Village guided tours and exhibits, including Shaker Traditions: Contemporary Translations. Food truck fare will be available as well as soups, salads, sandwiches and baked goods at the Shaker Box Lunch & Farm Stand.
The Vintage Car Show is free with the price of regular museum admission. Tickets can be purchased at www.shakers.org.
"Many do not know that the Canterbury Shakers were among the first in New Hampshire to own an automobile," noted Funi Burdick, Executive Director. "As innovators and entrepreneurs, the Shakers were quick to see the value in new technologies and were often on the leading edge of change. The Vintage Car Show brings this aspect of the Shaker legacy to life."
