You do know what 95% effective means, right?

That means 1 in 20 can still get infected !!!
So why is this such shocking news?

I'm glad the story didn't get legs, because it shouldn't.

It's all about statistics. If we all get the vaccine (or most of us), the virus will burn itself out. Because the vaccine will have a lower infection rate. But it won't be zero and there are tons of infected people walking around right now. In time there won't be. You need to look at it from a population point of view. Not individual infections.

This is why you still need to still wear masks and keep your guard up before and after you get the vaccine.
