Tried the Brickfront the other day for dinner. Food was indeed very good, especially the soups. I tried the sausage vegetable and my wife had the Chicken Orzo (or was it Turkey?). Both were excellent and obviously homemade, with the chicken/turkey being very fresh. I had their ribs, which were also very good (and the half rack was plenty), as were the basic non-coated, non-tampered-with french fries.
There were however, two non-food related negatives: First, the place was clearly a big hit with smokers at one time, as the walls still retain that acrid nicotine/smoke residue smell. It's not strong, and you forget about it/habituate to it quickly, but it is noticeable. Also, the day we were there it was balmy and getting cooler outside, but warm and
very humid inside. I'm guessing they were holding off on the A/C because it was a Tuesday, and there were only 2 parties in the dining room.
The verdict: We'll definitely try them again, but not until a phone call confirms that the A/C is ON.
