My guess is that a majority of threads on the forum are started with questions, rumors, curiosity and just plain nosiness. If you PC the day lights out of everyone's post it's not going to be worth reading.
And if that happens what will we do without the wild speculation that these posts lead to? For example, the Spindle Point accident? No one knew what really happened, but a lot of people had opinions. And judgement before the facts were known. No one jumped on the author of that thread. They just took it and ran with it.
