Default stop erosion-build a small wall-the MAINE way!

At Lowe's, according to their website, the 60-lb bag of Quikrete concrete mix costs 3.65 each, and when you buy a 56-bag pallet, the price is reduced by 30%.

For starters, go buy just one bag, and plop the sealed and unopened bag into the lake to see how it sets up, underwater, as a possible shoreline rip-rap stop against an eroding shoreline caused by the waves and wave-making wake boats.

Just one bag on an experimental basis ..... the water seeps through the paper bag ..... the concrete sets up .... each bag weighs how much when set up? ...... it aligns and hugs the smooth sandy-pebbled bottom ..... does it work ..... is it legal(?).

Nothing is likely to ever happen with slowing down, or stopping those wake boats, just ain't gonna happen, so's plopping these 60-lb paper bags of concrete along the shoreline may be a solution.

I call the it the Maine way, for solving their erosion problems over in Maine. If it works in Maine, will it work in New Hampshire?

About one week after plopping the bag along the water-land transition line, the paper outer bag can be removed, torn away, leaving the dark gray concrete which will probably blend pretty good with the natural shoreline. Sort of a 60-lb when dry, unknown weight when wet and set, shoreline builder-upper, protection line for protect'n the shoreline from the wake boat waves. Concrete is a mix of sand, gravel, cement, with the addition of water. Just add water to make it happen, and just carefully position the paper bag into the water along the shoreline and the water will quickly seep through the paper sack, making it set up and get very hard and durable ...... concrete!

According to a pdf from Quikrete, their paper bags/sacks that package the concrete, and keep it inside the sack while setting up, are biodegradable.

What a concrete plan!

For tons of excellent and informative instructions, suggest you google: 'Using concrete bags shoreline rip-rap' ..... the natural Maine way from that natural beauty state ..... just to the east ..... how they do it over in Maine.
