Actually, the "mush activity" takes place before the cruisers get to Johnson's Cove!

...And I don't know if 40 boats was any record: that number isn't counting the PWCs that get towed in there by cruisers.

I recall now that I've never seen so many turtles sunning themselves in Johnson's Cove than in any other part of Lake Winnipesaukee. They had a touch of red coloration and were very shy. Even at the approach of a stealthy canoe, they'd be sliding back into the water. I haven't seen any in recent years.

By the time you visit on Friday, you may see evidence of this season's end.

Yesterday, one tree in Johnson's Cove has erupted into its Fall colors.
