Exclamation Drillmaster Cordless...

A caution regarding HF Drillmaster 18v cordless drills and chargers.

The smallish battery does not allow the drill to be used for very long. When they appear to be slowing down, it's time for an immediate recharge.

Draining them completely drastically cuts their lifespan. Since buying them over decades, I've found these drills take "different" 18v batteries, and the chargers don't interchange.

A new line takes lithium batteries, but I haven't purchased any in order to comment. But starting out, I recommend not buying their 18 volt NiCad-driven cordless drills. You'll end up--like me--with a hodge-podge of wires, transformers, plugs, and chargers.

Some chargers of the NiCad variety are marked for a range of voltages, which may- or may-not charge your older batteries properly.
