My experience is that the best place to see moose this time of year is either in Pittsburg or Errol. Make sure, if you stay over in Pittsburg, to make reservations at the Rainbow Grill for dinner. Fabulous food!
I have seen moose in Alton and know for a fact that one walked the shores of Echo Point a few years ago:-)
