A moose was hit today on the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield Conn. The driver of the car is in the hospital.
Connecticut currently has a moose population — primarily in the northwestern corner of the state — estimated at about 100. Occasionally, an individual moose will venture outside of that area and is capable of covering around 20 miles per day.
Since January, three moose have been killed in the state after being struck by cars. These accidents occurred in Barkhamsted, Canaan and Thompson.
So hang-in there Jersey Girl, the moose are heading your way.
