Fair enough: your money, you can spend it as you wish.

But it seems to me that there is little or no real butt busting involved in handing you a box of food at the counter.

If in fact servers are underpaid and cannot make ends meet they can take it up with the owner who can then pay them more and raise his prices, or they can quit.

Capitalism 101 at work.

Charity begins at home, not in restaurants.

Should we also donate to seemingly down on their luck beggars?

I think not, as that only masks and exacerbates the underlying problem.
