Default ...watering your roundabout garden?

Three cheers for the Meredith roundabout and the NH-DOT for building it. That traffic roundabout definitely improved the traffic flow from before, plus it's a very attractive piece of roadway design.

What's a little disappointing is there's no garden hose outlet in the center for hooking up a lawn sprinkler spritzer. With its' circular shape, watering the roundabout would be very easy and it could be turned into an attractive roadway garden spot. Not a bad idea for a tourist town like Meredith, or for any town!

Hopefully, when the DOT builds the new Laconia roundabout planned to replace the infamous malfunction junction just up the road at Weirs Beach, they can be persuaded to install a garden hose outlet in the center. That one item, a garden hose water outlet, could initiate a lush attractive roundabout complete with a centerpiece formal show garden that's perfect for that location! What a difference that would make!

If you google "NH-DOT weirs beach roundabout planned" and visit the DOT website, you'll see the Weirs Beach roundabout was item #11 on the list of projects planned for 2011. It is now anyone's guess when and if the Weirs Beach roundabout will ever get built with what has happened to the DOT's spending money for road construction. It looks like that malfunction junction could be in use for years(?)....whenever....that malfunction junction can sometimes be a good challenge!
