Islandbum, What part of NJ do you now live in? I've lived in NJ all my life (60+ years) and I have never gotten an Italian sub served with mayo... Oil and vinegar only! I'm from Bergen County, home to lots of good Italian hero places.
Taylor ham is an acquired taste. Not one of my favorites, but it isn't bad as a TLT instead of a BLT for lunch.
