If you want to receive the calls you now have to carry two phones.

If you don't want to receive the calls you leave the phone at home.

If you no longer want calls from a person it's a heck of lot easier to just block that number. I think some apps can even automatically send specific phone numbers to voice mail.

Or assign a silent ringer to that phone number.

No caller ID and burner phones, are we in the 1990's here or something. Oh wait, it was close to the 1990's the post was regarding 2001 situation. So maybe a burner phone in 2001 was a work around.
