Have a look at the offerings from Kohler before you start writing checks.


I don't deal with generators for work but even with that, I've seen a few engine-related issues with Generac-made engines and I personally would be looking elsewhere if I were in the market.

In the long term, things like excessive oil consumption coupled with the lack of parts availability to rebuild the engine has you with two choices, replace the entire engine with another Generac-specific engine ($$$$) or replace the entire unit ($$$$$).

In short, it seems Generac in particular doesn't want their products to be repaired, just replaced.
