I recall a certain early Spring in 1993: we'd been plagued with midnight boat trailer troubles after a straight-through 1900 mile trip
.That caused our arrival at our Lake Winnipesaukee camp to move back to 3:30
AM, and loons were clearly vocal about their own arrivals at the lake.
The relief of arrival—the happy mutual excitement and joy—was easy to understand. Heck,
I felt like yelling!
For those of us who
also migrate, I have no trouble identifying with that emotion.
