I'm just curious why the town doesn't partner with and approach the local businesses that would directly benefit from the addition of these sidewalks and work a deal to help fund the construction and maintenance of them including snow removal?
While it may improve the overall aesthetics of the area, if there is no economic benefit for the town as a whole that is a lot of money to spend on fluff, never mind the reoccurring costs associated with it.
