Default Installation of a Propane Fireplace

Reputable sellers of gas fireplaces usually will do the installation, especially if the gas line is already run to where you want it installed.

We added 2 propane fireplaces and paid a plumber with a gas fitter's license to run the lines- you may also need electrical if your fireplace has a blower.

Then we had the seller(s) place and install the units- first one by Energy Savers in Meredith and last one by Eased Edges in Laconia.

You need to be especially careful in the installation if the unit is a sealed combustion unit with a single pipe to the outside, with an inner core and an outer core, one for bringing in air and one for exhausting combustion gases. The pipe needs to be properly sloped to avoid backflow of moisture from the combustion process.

Some people have "ventless" units, with no vent to the outside, but we would not have them in our home.
