During my pre-teen years we used to stay on Echo Point, and Downings was where the fun began. The smell of the old premix fuel told you fun was coming. I vaguely recall playing pinball there and also at Sandy Point. No idea what it cost back then, too long ago for me to remember. Always loved going under the bridge from Parker to Downings and tooting the horn in our old Glastrons with the clothesline steering system ;-) For me, there was no better time period than the 1960's and 1970's and especially when at Winnipesaukee. The world should be that good today.
