I re-plumbed my place so if I fear a hard freeze I can blow the house out in about 15 minutes with my air compressor and a quick disconnect (inline camlock) at the pump will drain the feed line to the house in a matter of minutes.

I blew the lines out in the fall before we closed, and didn't stop til only air was coming out...when I turned the water on yesterday I had a broken fitting on the upstairs toilet feed line, and a bad hose for the downstairs sink. Maybe this fall more air!!
