We have two new chicks off Chase Island. What a wonderful sight. I was told by the Loon Preservation patrol that their has been 15 new Loon chick sightings on the lake so far this year. There may be more. Last year there were a total of 8, I was told. They have already ran out of loon chick signs. That is a good "sign"
Let's help the Loon Patrol folks out identifying new chicks in your area. They are short staff and any sightings would certainly help them keep tabs on the head count and their location. They would very much appreciate it I'm sure.
