Agreed to an extent but having a guard up against a ridiculously remote chance of harm is folly.

The first compact at Plymouth proved ineffective. Everyone grew food to contribute to a common food bank, as it were, and it didn’t work. Only with the advent of individualism and market forces did things turn around.

Remember that the people created and thus allow government to exist. They aren’t subservient to governmental whim. Just the opposite.
