That is almost double New York State which is 6.875. If you “live in NYC” add an additional 3.876 still less than CA. Note if you just work in NYC and do not live within the 5 boroughs this rate does not apply. There is no longer a non residence tax for working in NYC and living outside the 5 boroughs.
