I really don’t know what to think anymore. I don’t understand how something as simple as putting on a mask when you’re out in public has become such a huge inconvenience that people refuse to do it.

The governor of Florida refused to make mask wearing mandatory because he says he would rather get more flies with honey than with vinegar. He had hoped that people would do the right thing. Now in today’s paper, the governor is claiming that young people are to blame for the sharp rise in cases because they are shunning masks and congregating in unhealthy ways..

What they realized after they opened the bars was that the environment is not conducive to stopping the spread of the virus. Bartenders said that people acted like there was no pandemic at all. People were not wearing masks and were not social distancing. People tend to talk louder in these situations and droplets from your speech go further.

How will the economy ever get back to normal if people refuse to take this seriously? We can’t keep pretending.
