Thanks for that advice. I'll try it. I also got a small sledge hammer at Harbor Freight today to use with a wedge, and I will sharpen my wedge. While I was there I looked at this hydraulic wood splitter:

HA! Are you sure about that? I didn't have to get my hip and shoulder replaced from lying around watching soap operas. Not all physical activities build you up. Some tear you down.
