Hey FLL,

Do you have any other symptoms? Occasional vertigo, balance issues, partial hearing loss in one or both ears? If so, get an ENT to evaluate for Meniere's Disease--it's a vestibular (inner ear) issue that causes (among other annoying, sometimes debilitating things) tinnitus. It usually hits folks in their 40s and 50s. I'm battling it now, and I'm 60.
