That's very good advice, CLA. Yesterday's wind kept the entire lake area between our West Alton shoreline near Minge Cove and the far Wolfeboro shoreline near Jockey Cove all open water, even though the air temperature never got above 4 - 5 degs here. Overnight the wind died and the temp. dropped to around -4 degs here, and the entire area of the lake that we can see flash-froze. The air temp. has risen to 20 degs here as I am typing this (1:50 PM) and with the mild temps. expected over the weekend and into next week it's anyone's guess if the ice will hold.
