Deals for laptops weren't too great before school starts this year. Although Dell and HP were clearing Windows 7 machines. The best deals I've seen were during 'Black Monday' last year.
BH, that seems steep. Did you actually have this work done or know someone who paid that much? Was the drive in question simply in a PC that wouldn't power up or was it corrupted and unmountable?
